Just a little update....

Princess Pissy Pants has graduated to big girl underwear. We still have pull-ups at night but they are pretty much bone dry every morning. It has been a fun experience and she even knows the "Underpants Song" that I made up for her. She will sing it to anyone who will listen...lol. Her big thing now is wanting to try every single bathroom in every single place we go. She likes to get my girlfriends to take her as well because she likes to narrate how the act is officially performed...First you undo your pants, the you bend like this (imagine a small girl child bending over in front of the big grown up toilet), then you pull yourself up on the seat, then you put your hands on the side and hold on tight and then you make the magic sprinkles! Then you wipe your doder, you pull up your pants and then you wash your hands. All done!

My sweet girl turned 3 years old on Thursday. I don't know where the time has gone. She is a walking, talking little person now with a mind of her own. As she tells me quite regularly, she is not a baby! She is a big girl now and she does not need a cart anymore at Wal-mart! Her choice of venues for shopping expeditions usually only include those that she is sure have no carts. How she remembers these places is beyond me but it is quite a sight when we go to one that she thinks is cart-free and the Momma (that's me) finds one....heh heh. She doesn't want to shop there anymore...lol.

Well I have to go to bed. It is way past bed time and whatever possessed me to write here could kepp me at it for hours. I need to sleep as we have a happy birthday party tomorrow for Bootsie and I have to go to WW meeting first thing in the morning.

Cheers all and I will try not to be so much of a stranger.

Moe

PS Keep up the great work Brandi!

Update June 23rd:

It's sad but true. I have forgotten what happened and have failed to remember. It was a ghastly evening no doubt! LOL I was sparkly in gold though!

I am sucking as a blogger since the whole facebook thing appeared out there. I have to get back to being productive on here as my Stink Girl has directed her weight loss friends to my space for pointers.

It is nearly 4 months and both hublet and I are smoke free. I still have the urge to have one but it passes. I was doing fairly well with losing the added weight but I have been off this week while hublet is doing "Canada's Worst Driver" season 3 and the food is just too easy to get at.

Well I hope not to be a stranger but don't hold your breath.

Cheers!

The Sun is shining!

Well I know I haven't been paying very much attention to my little chunk of space but honestly it is because I suck...lol. Actually I have been trying to get out and enjoy the nice weather we have been having and when it is crap I have been trying to get down to the work out dungeon to shed this confirmed 3.6 lb weight gain I have had since quitting smoking. Hublet and I are now over the 2 month quit mark. You would think it would be getting a little easier to control the oral cravings. I think it is actually if we didn't keep so much crap around here...ie. licorice, hard candies, chips, blah, blah, blah...typically anything that people who have quit smoking should not have in the house...lol.

On a brighter note, we had a marvelous visit with John and Kari when they ventured up to the great white north. We had marvelous weather that weekend so we were able to get out for a nice walk with Bootsie Girl. I had a fabulous time but I was left with a feeling that perhaps a week long visit would have been more suitable...lol. It went by in a whirlwind and there were still so many things to do and see and talk about. Hopefully they will be able to make it up this way again someday. Summer in my city offers loads of excellent waterfront entertainment so it was too bad that they could not have made it up again before shipping off to the "Bluenose Province" for good. It would also have been nice for them to see Bootsie again with a much sunnier disposition. Holy Crankpot! She really is sweet most of the time guys...lol. Finally it was also nice to see Jiggly Pants again after a year long passage of time. Life gets in the way is all I can say. It is still like slipping into a comfy pair of jeans though when we get together. I got to spend some time with her boys as well which was nice. They actually still love me even when I don't see them very often...lol That is probably the reason why now that I come to think of it...lol. Wouldn't want a Auntie Moe overdose! I didn't get to see "James" as he likes to be called now as he was out being a 20 year old with the chick. What 20 year old boy cares whether he sees his Godmother or not...lol. I know I would have likely groaned about it at his age and found a way out of the visit...lol. I also did mange to shock Jiggly which I do love to do at least once per visit. It had to do with the Omelet Making Guy, remember Stink?

Well I leave you with at least a small token of helpful weight loss information. Here it is to find out how many calories you burn doing regular exercise or even just every day houseshold chores.

Cheers to all and a big welcome and good luck to Heidi who has generously agreed to take over the WLS space.

Great news! I am expecting a visit from our own Kari and John this weekend. I will be meeting up with them tonight. They are currently up with my best friend Kathy or Jiggly pants as some of you may know her. Tomorrow they are heading down into my neck of the woods where they will finally meet the little sweetness now known as Princess Pissy Pants and the Hublet. Should be a grand time and I plan on taking some pics. I haven't seen Jiggly in a year so it will be an extra special evening tonight.

Well that's it Cats!

Hope all is well in your world!

The potty training...hmmm. It is going but I am not sure how well. She goes when you put her on there but she does not see the relevance of trying to keep her butt dry. She just has not made that connection yet. I suppose it will just take some time. The idea of having a cold butt in her pull-ups still is not phasing her. We have also been experiencing a little bit of pluggage in the other area...lol. She has been on a diet of applesauce and prunes to try to get things moving along. We were out for lunch today and telling the ever amusing tales of the potty crusades to a couple of friends. She pipes up and tells everyone she does pellets and they are stinky...lol. The kid listens way too much to what I say. I told her she was doing rabbit pellets one day..lol.

One more small funny Boots story to tell. I don't know how many of you know who Ed Grimley is but it is a comedy character played by Martin Short. I think he did it on Saturday Night Live. Anyway, he always had his pants pulled right up under his armpits and would put his hands on his hips and say "I must say!". Hublet likes to pull his shorts up like that in the summer time and startle people with this obvious fashion faux pas. He decided that he would try it on our darling daughter. Well he tried one day to get her to do a Martin Short. She didn't get the whole concept and pulled her pants down and carried on her merry little way. Today he had to come rescue me from the grocery store and the demon bank card canceller. Long story short is they cancelled my card due to them thinking it was compromised but anyway I digress. It was when we got home that he told me the story of having to put some pants on Boots as she was practicing being a potty princess when I called. He grabbed a pair of stretchy pants that are too big and put them on the Bootsie Girl. He pulled them right up under her armpits because he didn't want them to drag ont he ground and get muddy. He goes to grab her boots to put on when she does it. She looks at him and puts her hands on her hips and says....you guessed it, "I must say!". You most likely had to be there to see the humour in it but it sent me into fits of giggles.

One last thing, I forgot to mention that on my last weighin a few weeks ago I hit the 105 lbs lost. In all the stress and crap (or lack of it in Boots case), I forgot to mention it...lol.

Good luck to our Kim on her mission to be Weight Watchers member extraordinaire. They would be crazy not to have her join the WW gang. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Our beautiful Elissa and her family also gets a huge congrats on the arrival of her sweet girl Cami on the 17th. She is an absolute doll! And Miss Kari and John, no update from the scales? Miss you guys too!

Well kids I'm scooting.

What the heck is that?

Well I am happy to report that I am still in one piece. It has been an interesting couple of weeks to say the least. First I quit smoking (day number 15 starts tomorrow) all is good and fine. Then there is monster snow and treacherous driving conditions which cause both ways on the highway that I drive on every friggin day to be closed. We (my Smoking commuter buddy) and I figure we will try an alternate route home. Problem is....so did every other freakin' body. 7.5 hours..yes I said 7.5 hours later I walk through the door at home sweet home and the clock is just striking midnight...ugh. Did I mention that I was sitting in a car with someone who smokes? Well all was still good in the world of non smoking. I did not crumble even one little bit. Yeah Moe! What did I get as a gesture of good faith in my willpower? A big fat honkin' cold. Not one that lasts a couple of days but one that likes to linger on and migrate into the chest area turning one into a great big flousy phlegm monster. Like my poor smoke deprived lungs needed that...lol. Just to test my state on non smoking stamina, we decided that now would be the appropriate time to try and potty train our Princess Bootsie girl. We have had a few good days. We bought some pull ups that are supposed to turn cold and make you uncomfortable if you accidently tinkle. Apparently the Boots likes a frigid arse because it didn't even phase her...lol. Next we tried the real training pants. The cloth extra absorbent bubble butt kind. They say if they tinkle in those they will not like the wet feeling. As most parents know the new age diapers of today keep wetness away from baby's skin so they never have to know the feeling of being wet. One would think that soaking wet big girl underpants would lead someone to be a tad uncomfortable. I got smart and put these rubber swimming pant things over top of the training pants. I have been asking her every five minutes, "Do you have to pee? Sit on the potty." If we pee we get a nerd candy and if we poop we get a mini m&m. This kid sits on the potty does a little sprinkle to get a nerd, pulls up her big girl underpants that she is so very proud of and proceeds to sit down in her rocking chair where she lets the damn burst and flood out her new underpants as well as the rubber ones I put over top. Of course I don't notice because she just went wee in the potty. She gets up and asks me for "a couple nerds" all sweet and I notice the growing wet spot on her. She did not care that she was walking around in her pissy palace pants....lol. I went back and bought normal diapers today. Whose idea was it to try potty training, quitting smoking, getting healthy and trying to live a responsible weight watchers way all at the same time? What was I thinking? The last straw was tonight...lol. Boots was having her bath. I put her on the pot before her bath..nada. I put her on the pot after her bath...nada...hmm. I decide to get her dressed. We got the shirt on but she is quick and escaped. I have a wardrobe in the bathroom where she likes to hide. She got herself all cozy in there, bare butt and all. Not even a minute and I get her nekkid rear out of there and lo and behold there is a big old wet spot on my nice clean sweatshirt. I think she does these things to test me. I know she is just doing enough to get her nerds and m&m's....lol. I am going to start rewarding her with carrots...lol.

Well I had hoped to have some inspirational ramblings on here from my WW meetings but the snot monster sucked them out of my brain. I know I went to the meetings but do you think I can remember what they were about...lol. Just let me tell you that I know they were inspirational. You are just going to have to believe me and suck the vibes by osmosis from me...lol.

We have lots of WLS kids getting back on the WW wagon for spring. I am proud of you all and hope that I can keep up with you. Food is looking more attractive these days...lol. Journalling and exercising have not been very attractive!

Great losing to you all!

Cheers!

I think throwing it out there to all our WLS friends as well as anyone else who wants to participate is a grand idea. This all came about after some constant teasing and inquiries as to the well being of Kim's poor Ab Roller contraption. The poor thing made it off of her back porch and into her work out room but has laid dormant ever since...lol. In the spirit of all things hopefully melting away in March, I bring you the "Whittle the Middle March" Challenge. I think that measuring would be a good idea to start. From there, let the crunchfest begin. I slacked today as I have been tormented by that crazy March Lion appearing in all areas close to me...ugh. Could you just go to the zoo ya old fleabag! I am sick of winter and so much more prefer the company of a cute cuddly lamb.

It is time to say good-bye to the Mirth Girth! I will measure tomorrow.

More news, today was officially the first day of the Driven to Quit Challenge. For those of you that are not Ontarians, it is a quit smoking challenge. One day down and the rest of my life to go. Hublet has also joined the challenge but he is a grumpy nicotine gum chewer where I opted for the patch. He thought that going cold turkey would be easy for him....lol. I laughed a hearty laugh at him and looked at him sternly and said, "For the love of all that you hold dear to you and for the sake of your wife and daughter, please, PLEASE do not do that!". Hublet's nickname is Grumpy, and it is not because he looks like one of the seven dwarves. Can you imagine how fast I would be running to buy him a pack of smokes if he didn't use anything to help him quit....lol. I have seen him try to do that before. It is frightening to say the least. I would have to write a horror novel about the crazed nicotine deprived Grump! Okay so this is the last I am mentioning it because it has now become a taboo subject in our house...lol. I must also remember to NOT ask him how his day was...lol.

So Kim let me kow if you up officially up for the challenge now that I have told all of spaces about it...lol.

Cheers kiddies!

moe

ps Kari no worries girl, I am not hiding, just hibernating until this friggin' snow takes leave of my world..lol

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2007-03-02T04:16:11Z</dcterms:modified>

Ask a Stupid Question, Get a Stupid Answer

I have a Labrador Retriever, and was buying a large bag of Purina at Wal-Mart and was in line to check out. The woman behind me asked if I had a dog? (Duh!)

On impulse, I told her no, I was starting The Purina Diet again. Although I probably shouldn't because I'd ended up in the hospital the last time. But I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms.

Cannine Humor

I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way it works is to load your pants pockets with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry. The food is nutritionally complete so I was going to try it again.

I have to mention here that practically everyone in line was now enthralled with my story, particularly a tall guy who was standing behind her.

Horrified, she asked if I ended up in intensive care because the dog food poisoned me?

I told her no, I'd been sitting in the street licking my ass and a car hit me.

I thought the guy standing behind her was going to need help as he staggered to the door laughing.

Although, this is a lame and cheater entry, I thought that it was too funny not to share...lol.

and went back outside. I figured I shouldn't have to come in the house to tell him as I made it quite apparent by the sound of the tires spinning that I was indeed stuck. Hublet knows that I am backward driving challenged and should have been out of bed and down the stairs...lol. He got up and came down finally, grumpy I might add...lol. He says straighten the wheels, drive forward. I did. I got out of the rut. He then says turn the wheels this way (I honestly don't remember which way as I am also directionally challenged), I did and he says to back up. Took all of 30 seconds...lol. He was not a happy camper. I said it was because the wheels are wider on the new car. He said that the problem was not the wheels....lol. I wonder what he meant by that? Did I tell you that he clears a path at the side of the driveway on the lawn for me to back into so that I don't have to back out of the driveway onto the road? As I said before I am backward driving challenged, so I don't back into the driveway. I was trying to back into that turn around laneway he made me and to be perfectly honest I know I was not even close to making it...lol. I did get out but you can imagine why I thought he would think I was a spaz for not being able to find the clutch in the car. The story continues..... As I said I thought it was wierd that the ignition was on the dash because it was on the steering column in my old Sentra. I have been sitting in the car for 8 to 10 minutes now. I go to start the car and the key won't fit....hmm...I turn it around and try to put it in the other way. It still doesn't work so I try switching it around one more time. No luck. I then reach up to turn on the map light that my new car has. Lo and behold there is no damn map light. I'm like...holy shit! This is not even my car, no wonder I can't find the clutch, it's a friggin' automatic...lol. I quickly grab my groceries and high-tail it out of that car. I look over at the car beside me and there is someone sitting in it. I look at them and throw my arms up and shrug my shoulders. They were laughing, I just know it...lol. Thank goodness it was dark so that the redness of my face could not easily be seen. I scurried over to my car which was right in the row behind the wrong car...lol. I threw my groceries into the seat, started the engine and thanked my lucky stars that there was indeed a clutch and it was right where I left it before...lol. Note to all drivers, please make sure that you lock your car when you will be leaving it unattended. You just never know who could be using it as a park bench or shelter...lol. And that my friends is what is called "Pulling a Moe".

Now onto to some diet related things. As I mentioned the other day, the hublet pulled my old stepper into the house for me. Well I used it. I used it for about 46 minutes straight. That would be 46 minutes all in a row, one after the other...lol. These 46 minutes have turned into the most pain I have felt in ages. I have not known such pain since Kari introduced me to the butt crunching exercises...lol. Not only could I not do any exercises last night but I proceeded to walk as though I had a pickle up me arse all day long...lol. No one told me that riding the bike does not exercise your calves! That dang stepper taught me that yes I do have calves and reminded me each and every time I tried to take a step yesterday and today...lol. Because I dedicated myself to the challenge our WW leader put out for us, I did go and ride the bike tonight. Not without pain to be sure but I did feel a little better after using the muscles again...lol. Here is this evening's soundtrack. Yes I did listen to Ding Dong the Witch is Dead. I am going to put in the sharing folder on messenger for Kari as she will just crack up when she hears this version....lol. Sooo here it is:

I hi-jacked this from Jiggly Pants space. I thought it was well worth the read. There is a link to her space at the left side of my space. Go and have a visit. When she isn't making you laugh, she will surely give you some food for thought.

Cheers,

moe

Quote

Confessions of a "FORMER" Anorexic.

I think most of my close friends and family know I suffered from Anorexia Nervosa as a young teen, so I’m not shocking anyone here. I never used the terminology for it though. I’d simply say “I’d starve myself for weeks to lose weight”, but never admitted ownership of this sad disease by name. Not that I wouldn’t then, or don’t now, but just felt silly claiming it by name, wondering if people would think I was proud of it or something.

I am not ashamed of it by any means. It is just a symptom of something bigger that goes on in someone’s life, and you try to cope. I mention it now, because it seems, in my little world lately, every second person is worrying about their weight. I rarely find anyone who is truly “embracing” his or her own skin.

At age 14 I may have weighed 100 – 110 pounds when our military family moved to a new town, I was entering high school. I had watched my older sister be berated about being overweight. I couldn’t handle that. I was always the “skinny” child. Involved in swimming, volleyball, and track and field, I had the perfect little “athlete’s” body! And everyone noticed and said so. I enjoyed the positive admiration of anyone who bestowed it upon me. I was an emotionally needy child, ask my Mum… lol!

But something happened my first year of high school…. I gained nearly 50 pounds. I hadn’t really noticed. I always wore track pants and oversized clothes in general, because I was involved heavily in sports, but people began saying things at school about it. I went from a size 0-3 in pants to a size 31. Mostly larger women in my family, I’m sure my Mum just thought I was “blooming”, but boobs would have been nice, if that were true… lol!

So it began…. The need to control my weight became my every thought. Counting calories and rigid exercise to burn whatever it was I’d put in my mouth. But it was never enough. I began a diet of water and dexitrim and just have that for two weeks at a time. No actual food would pass my lips. I began having kidney/ urinary tract problems, anxiety attacks, and was really really mean in general! I couldn’t cope in school, couldn’t concentrate, but I was losing weight. I used exlax occasionally but not too much. I was desperate to be thin. I think I went back to 110 pounds, and I did begin eating, but would continue my 2 weeks on 2 weeks off starvation diet. Just to ensure the weight never came back.

I had no idea what permanent damage I was doing to my own body back then. Karen Carpenter didn’t die from this disease until 1983, when people finally started talking about it out in the open, drawing attention to it. Since just having Anorexia Nervosa only occurs 2% of the time, not morphing into binging and purging habits, I assumed I was ok, as long as I didn’t start making myself throw up I figured it was ok. I tried it, but hate tossing my cookies, so I wouldn’t go that route.

I believe I have tremendous spirit, as I one day stopped the overly destructive behavior without medical intervention, but I still suffer from the traits associated with the disease. People with Anorexia Nervosa tend to bake a lot of “goodies” only to give them away, encourage other’s to eat, pick at their food, are compulsive about how their food is arranged on their plate, and over chew their food. It takes me forever to finish a meal. The need to control food and weight never goes away totally. Even now the thought “I can’t be fat, I can’t be fat”, is on my mind almost daily.

But I am responsible about my weight. And although I am losing weight now, I am doing it very carefully. And have learned how my body works to keep the fat storage in check. I am down 17 pounds now. But when I look at pictures of myself at around 165 pounds [the picture above is one of me at that weight], I am not disgusted in them. I actually think I looked ok. That was maybe 9 months ago. So I am moving ahead slowly and know I am being very responsible about the whole thing. I say I have no “goal” weight out loud. To do so may be harmful. I know how to lose it quick from past practice, but I fight the urge to become destructive again.

One of the things I want to do is to advocate how being comfortable in one’s own skin is paramount! My older sister almost killed herself during university from diet and exercise and watching her was heartbreaking. Back then, I just wanted to grab her and hold her and tell her “don’t you see what you are doing to yourself”??!! But to do so would force me to tell my secret, which I was still involved in during that time. Thankfully she realized she wasn’t a size 5 woman and to continue was silly. She always was the smart one….. lol!

The one bad thing I still am guilty of, is keeping a size 0 dress hanging on the back of my bedroom door. Sometimes I squeeze into it, and yes, I can get it on and done up, but instead of thinking, “I have to get into that dress”, I think, “WOW! I can almost fit into that dress comfortably”, and that makes me very happy. The “almost” is good enough for me now.

I wish society were different about how important appearance is. Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie are NOT typical women people! And a big BRAVO to Tyra Banks for her recent interview about her weight! She looks beautiful and sexy and is 165 pounds now since her retirement. Her interview is in some magazine, if you know which please leave a comment telling other’s where to look, as I can’t seem to remember right now! Just LOOK at her and tell me she isn’t more attractive now then when she was modeling! Embrace a healthy weight; don’t believe a woman should be a size 3 or 5 to be considered “normal”. Curves and physical “substance” is what men really want, I’ve asked around so I know! And I also know I’m just as sexy at around 145 pounds as I was at 165 pounds. Being sexy is all about what you do and what you say to your man, not how your hipbones can cut the guy you’re bumping up against. No man wants to be there wondering if he’s going to “break” you because you’re so tiny.

Long but important……… sorry!

~Peace~

<msn:type>blogentry</msn:type><live:type>blogentry</live:type><live:typelabel>Blog entry</live:typelabel>

<dcterms:modified>2007-01-30T18:36:48Z</dcterms:modified>

Steppin' It Up

I wanted to talk a little bit about the WW meeting this past Saturday. It was all about getting moving. We first made a long list of why we didn't exercise. Hate it, No time for it, Not any fun, It hurts, blah, blah, blah. If you can think of a reason, it was likely there. Then we made a list of reasons for exercising. Honestly I think we all know how healthy and beneficial it is for us so I don't need to reiterate that list..lol. Well our leader provided us with a challenge for this week. If, on Saturday we arrive to the meeting and we beat the number of minutes that she exercised this week, we would have our names put in a draw. I have taken the challenge to heart and have exercised Saturday, Sunday and today. In the spirit of not driving myself crazy with repetitive exercise my darling Hublet rescued my old manual stepping thing from the abyss of our back kitchen. The back kitchen is the place where all things that don't fit in the house go as well as things that we don't use. We are in dire need of purging back there but thank goodness I didn't purge the old stepper...lol. The back kitchen is also the place where my exercise bike was rescued from. It no longer is adorned with electrical cords...lol. My little exercise haven is starting to shape up. This weekend I purchased a nice comfy foam pad to do my crunches on. It is a thing of beauty and oh so soft. I am trying to make exercising something I want to do by providing myself with a space that makes me want to go there. So far so good! I stepped it up tonight for the first time in years and it was fun to do something else other than riding the bike. Me arse thanked me as well...lol.

Good news on my friend who joined WW. She lost another 2 lbs this week and is now down 4.9 lbs. I am very proud of her. This week she brought along a friend to join as well. The more the merrier I say! I am firm believer in surrounding yourself with as much support as possible. It helps to make the task not seem so much like a task.

So I wrote down the songs from my Sunday bike ride (minus the spiders..I scared them back into their web hell...hehe). So here is the Sunday Soundtrack:

Great losing to you all and a special hug fest for Kari and John for doing so well with learning to eat healthy again as well as getting their butts moving!

Cheers,

I gave Boots peanutbutter and graham crackers tonight and although I know she has never had a reaction to peanuts or peanutbutter before I feel tense about it. I get off the bike (I know you guys are all thinking I was looking for ways to get out of exercising...lol) and go upstairs, over the gate and then up another flight of stairs to Boots room. She is sleeping soundly and didn't mind so much that I was aiming a flashlight directly at her face to make sure she was breathing okay. I have become a psycho mother I think. So I head back downstairs, over the gate, down more stairs and get back into the laundry room and onto my bike. Start up the mp3 player and continue my ride. Shortly after I felt as though someone was watching me. I look to my side and there is an ugly old spider dangling from the ceiling. It startled me so much to see it there that when I batted it away, I turned too sharply and my poor knee came up and dinged the tension control on the bike. It wasn't just a little ding though. I screeched in pain. Many unfavourable words flew past my lips. Not very ladylike to be sure. I soldiered on though and continued with my ride as I was now determined to complete the task at hand. My knee was screaming in pain but I was so irked by that spider I rode out the anger. Well it seems that perhaps the laundry room in the basement of an old farm house is not the best place for my little exercise haven. Apparently that spider that I sent sailing across the room came back with friends. Not one, but two more decided to slank their way down their little web strings on the other side of me. I sent them sailing too. There was no way that nasty little spiders were going to scare Little Moe Muffet from her tuffet ...er...bike that day. Ride was completed.

For your entertainment pleasure I thought I would periodically post my music that makes me Move It! Move It! Here is the soundtrack from Tuesday night:

If you only knew what I have loaded on my MP3 player...lol

Great losing to you all!

Cheers,

This week's meeting was all about impatience and weight loss. The leader talked about all the things in life that we hate waiting for like line ups, drive throughs and of course weight loss. She then asked everyone what things they thought were worth waiting for. We got things like a baby, a good meal and I added weight loss of course...lol. Anyway the whole idea of the meeting was to try to put dieting into perspective and how there are no quick fixes. The quick fix diets generally don't last and usually end up with the weight coming back plus some exta. Her way of explaining it was rather neat. She asked if there was anyone who played a musical instrument in the class. There were a few. She then asked if they just picked up the instrument and started to play without any coaching or instruction. You could see a lot of light bulbs going on by the expression on people's faces. She asked if knowing how to play the instrument was worth the time invested in learning how to play it. You can obviously see where she was going with this...lol. Anyway the best story was the one she told about her son. When he was 3 or 3 and a half he used to watch hockey with his Dad all the time. He decided that he wanted to skate. They went out and bought him skates and took him to the school where they had an outside rink. They got him all laced up and put him on the ice. He tried to skate. He went forward and fell down. He got up tried again a couple of more times with the same result. He then went over to his Mother and was quite perturbed and told her that SHE bought him the wrong skates because they didn't work right....lol. This was just another way of showing that it takes and practice to get the results you are looking for. Just because something doesn't happen quickly and overnight or on the first try does not mean that it is the wrong thing to be doing. So many people try to lose weight and become discouraged when they are not losing it fast enough. It wasn't the first time that I tried Weight Watchers. In fact I think I tried it about three times before I actually committed myself to it. It took me a long time to get to where I am today but I am very happy that it did take so long. Today I don't have any trouble really knowing what I should and should not eat. I have learned that through this journey and that knowledge has helped me in maintaining where I am. I will not say that I won't ever gain weight again but I sure as hell won't let it happen without a fight. I monitor myself and I still journal my food every day. The other critical thing to my success has been the meetings. People who don't actually go to Weight Watchers may not know what I am talking about but there is something so positive and special that goes on in every meeting. I leave there every Saturday armed with the motivation needed to see me through another week.

Well that's all for me my friends.

Great losing to you all!

So that is about it for me. Remember kids...If you bite it, write it!

I gained 2 to 3 lbs over Christmas which I have been working on losing but have had little luck until this morning when I climbed upon the demon scale. After blowing my allowable points right out the window yesterday I was down to only needing to lose one more pound to get back to my pre-Christmas weight. Who would have thought that would have ever happened? I was expecting to be suffering from Pigitis this morning...lol. Well that is a quick one for ya. My baby girl turns 2 today. I haven't a clue where the time went. SHe isn't even a baby anymore. She is a little people now. It walks and talks and sasses me. I am sure I can expect more in the future.

Happy New Year to all my friends. Welcome back to Kim, Ang and Chris. I have missed you guys!
